As you know (or maybe you don't) that
Rose Parade is held near here in Pasadena on January 1st every year, has been for the last 117 years. Unless the New Year falls on a Sunday, then it will be held on Monday instead, which is the case for this year. Rose Bowl (Go Trojans!) is usually held on the same afternoon as the Rose Bowl, but this year it will be on Wednesday instead.
I never knew that Rose Bowl will never be held on a Sunday until John pointed it out to me. As far as the history goes, it has never been rained on the day of the Rose Bowl. We shall see about this year, since it's pouring here right now.
Have a Happy New Year everyone.
Yesterday after I woke up at 8 (my kids were wonderful and let me sleep in), after I fed them, I tried to check my email and turn on seasome street for amber, not a single channel was available, and I wasn't able to connect. I tried calling our cable company, but was put on hold for half an hour, so I gave up.
Finally John got through them, a tech came today. Some assholes from the cable company disconnected our service while disconnecting our neighbor's who is moving out.
Jackass.

Aside from my computer that is giving me crap, all good here during this Christmas season.
Yesterday we took the boy to Knotts Berry Farm, courtesy of Nathan, who gave us some free tickets. The boy had fun, except he didn't want to get on any high rides, including the kiddie ones. I think he inheritated my fear of heights. It was a little
drizzling and chilly yesterday, so we didn't try the
Water ride, which sure would get us all soaked. Knotts also has a new ride called
Silver Bullet. Unless I get paid really well, I will never be crazy enough to set my foot in that ride.
On Sunday, we basically stayed home and relaxed. Opened our gifts, but I totally forgot to take any photos. JE was very excited, he got some really good gifts; and A. was just content playing with boxes and wrapping paper.
On Christmas eve we all did the traditionally family dinner at one of my aunts. The food was good, and the gifts were even better.
Note: I finally got this post up, after the computer rebooted on me three time.
Yeah right, when do I ever stick to my New Year's Resolutions? But for amusement purpose, I will list mine.
1) Walk regularily
2) Shop less, especially for clothing
3) Keep a cleaner house
4) Lose weight
5) Stop yelling and stressing out so much
6) Save more
7) Drink more water
8) Drive less aggressively
9) Make more time for hubby and I
10)Reduce debt
I have been having computer problem for a couple of weeks now. I'm so pissed at it, I feel like throwing it to the wall.
I'm able to turn it on, but after a while, it either reboots, or gives me the black screen of death. When it gives the black screen, the computer is still on, but no amount of mouse moving or keyboard banging is able to get anything back on. I have to use to main switch at the back of the PC to turn it off.
I'm so annoyed. I can't do anything, because I never know when it will shut down or reboot.
Anyone know what the fuck is wrong with my computer?

I had a bath last night with A. After I washed her and she splashed water all over my face, I called out John to take her out. Just as I was ready to hand her out, I felt some warm "water" running down my tummy. Yep, my daughter has peed. After going ewww, I couldn't stop laughing.

JE got a gift for his dad a while back, I stashed it somewhere after I bought it. But now for the life of me, I CAN NOT FIND IT! I looked everywhere, there is no sight of it.
Did you hear and see that? That's me screaming and pulling hair out of me.

I thought I am done with Christmas shopping, apparently not!
Hubby just informed me who his gift exchange partner is. So it was yet another trip to Target.
I love Target, but not much during this crazy season. I even got snippy with the cashier. I grabbed a couple of character bandaids for JE, both were on-sale, but were scanned at regular prices. I knew it was only 50 cents difference, but it was the pinciple of things. You could not charge me one price, when it was posted with a different price. I made the girl called the manager/supervisor to refund me the money.
I have promised the boy a few weeks now that we are getting a Christmas tree. Do we have one? Nope. At least
we I have finally written a letter to Santa last night, with him telling me what to write.

that putting up an Amazon wish list could be so hard?
It didn't help that I'm doing it while watching "Lord of the Ring: Two Towers", and I have expensive taste. :)
Why would people call two seconds later, when first time they called the phone wasn't picked up? You think we would be home in two seconds? Idiots!

Sirius Black You scored 61% Maturity, 66% Goodness, and 75% Abilities! |
Ok, so you're easily taunted by Snape, you're a convicted murderer (which you didn't do!) but you're also a great guy. You stepped right up to the plate once you escaped from Azkaban to take care of Harry, which most guys might not do. *Sniff* I miss ya, Sirius. |
|
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: | You scored higher than 62% on Maturity | | You scored higher than 12% on Goodness | | You scored higher than 72% on Abilities |

I asked JE a few days ago if Santa Claus is real?
"No. He is just people in costume. Sometimes it's Grandpa, sometimes it's some stranger in the mall."
-------------------------------------
Overheard in the car with hubby, 2 kids and MIL.
We were our way home from
Huntington Library today. Amber was really tired and cranky.
hubby: "I think he (JE) needs a N-A-P (spelling it out) too."
JE: "No, I'm not tired. I DO NOT need a nap."
MIL and I laughed out loud. Well, the days of spelling out words so the kid won't know what we are talking about are over, at least for one of the them.
A day late too, but what to do?
1) Vaccuming (Hate it, hate it, hate it. John does all the vaccuming in our house.)
2) Dusting
3) Picking up dog doo-doos.
4) Baking.
5) Throwing away garbage.
6) Cleaning bathtub/shower.
Actually I don't mind too much about chores. I think it is different when it is your own house, I like to see it nice and clean. I think I have become really anal about cleaniness ever since we acquired our own house, especailly in the kitchen and living room areas.
I used to not like cooking, but I love it now. And when it comes to dishes, I actually perfer handwash them than dishwash. I feel my dishes are cleaner when handwashed.
And no, don't ask me to handwash your dishes or clean your house. :)

I'm so tired. But not going to bed when it's way past midnight isn't helping either.
Tomorrow is another long day...
Goodnight kiddies. :)

Ever since MIL got here on November 22nd, besides preparing for Thanksgiving, we have been out everyday doing nothing but shopping and more shopping. She is the one who is doing most of the shoppings, mainly for clothes and Christmas.
The stuff here are so much cheaper, comparing to what they have in Australia, even after exchange rate. She arrived with one suitcase and a carry-on. She most denfinetely needs a second or third suitcase when she goes back.
Tomorrow we are headed out to Chinatown and downtown to show her around a bit. I think next week we will do more sight-seeings than shopping. I know my bank account will thank me.
